Australia is the world’s sixth largest country, measuring 4000km from east to west and 3200km north to south. The interior is mainly flat and sparsely populated as the bulk of the population lives on the eastern coastal plains and the southeastern coast. The Great Dividing Range runs north to south down the eastern seaboard separating the coastal plains from the inland central plains. The Tropic of Capricorn splits straight through the center of the land, northern conditions are mostly tropical with wet conditions in the summer and dry conditions in the winter. In the south weather conditions are temperate and include all four seasons.
Australia is rich with rare minerals, oil, gold, precious gems, wool, meat, wine and 1000’s of unique and protected animals and plant life (including the locals). To give you an idea of Australia’s precious scapes, 15 areas are listed by the World Heritage Committee including the Great Barrier Reef, Kakadu National Park, Tasmanian Wilderness, Lord Howe Island, Uluru (Red Rock), Fraser Island and Blue Mountians to name just a few.
